Unstately Elegance

Inspired by the faded grandeur of British stately homes, Unstately Elegance is an exploration of the wonders these sites house and the curiosities they contain. Paying homage to the former glory of these uniquely different and characterful places, the collection captures the essence of charm and eclecticism to be found there. Hailing historical, culturally significant artists and craftsmen, Unstately Elegance consists of texture, bird, animal, insect and botanical inspired prints. Influenced in part by houses such as Calke Abbey and Whitley Court, echoes of these rich historical narratives are suffused with Ulterior Motifs’ flair for colour and scale and brought to life.  We aim to satisfy the ideals of both beauty and function.

In our commitment to protecting and preserving the natural world and historical sites that inspire our designs, a percentage of our profit is donated to charities and organisations that help to protect native species and habitats. We are also working to collaborate with other local businesses and build a community that shares a love of truly great interiors.
